One system. Two jobs.

A construction camera from Bauzeitraffer.at is more than a camera: it is a permanently installed system consisting of a weatherproof housing, an integrated 4G/LTE modem, cloud connectivity and optional solar power. At adjustable intervals – typically every 5 to 10 minutes – it builds a seamless image archive that serves two purposes at once: live monitoring in the browser and the basis for the finished cinematic-quality time-lapse film. Because we develop and build our systems ourselves, we configure the camera, optics and power supply to fit your site exactly – instead of squeezing you into an off-the-shelf product.

Which camera module fits your project?

The choice between the GoPro and DSLR module mainly depends on the subject, distance and intended use.

The GoPro module (Basic) is the rugged, cost-effective choice for most building and residential projects. The ultra-wide angle captures the entire site even on tight inner-city plots, the 5.3K resolution delivers sharp images from 50 cm to infinity, and the compact form factor mounts almost anywhere.

The DSLR module (Pro) comes into play when maximum image quality, long distances or a specific framing matter: with interchangeable optics we cover any angle of view from wide to telephoto, the APS-C or full-frame sensor delivers up to 8K, brilliant colours and the depth of field that marketing and showcase videos in cinematic quality require. For large projects we also combine several cameras into one seamless overall picture.

What is the difference between the GoPro and DSLR module?

The GoPro module (Basic) is compact, rugged and affordable, records in 5.3K with an ultra-wide angle and suits most building and residential projects. The DSLR module (Pro) delivers up to 8K, interchangeable optics for any angle of view and a large APS-C or full-frame sensor – the right choice for maximum quality, long distances or cinematic-quality showcase videos.

Does the camera need power and internet on site?

No internet – every system has its own 4G/LTE modem with a SIM card on board and dials into the available network automatically. Power ideally comes from the mains; for sites without a connection there is a self-sufficient solar variant with a high-performance battery that runs reliably through the Austrian winter months.

How does the technology withstand weather, dust and frost?

The sensitive electronics sit in a purpose-built protective housing that seals against dust, rain and extreme temperatures. The systems are designed for continuous operation across the entire construction period – from summer heat on the roof to frost on alpine sites.

How does the GDPR-compliant blurring work technically?

How many cameras do I need for my construction site?

For most projects one well-positioned camera is enough. For large areas, several construction phases or when you want to document different perspectives, we combine multiple systems into one overall picture. The field-of-view planner helps you gauge it, and we advise you free of charge on the optimal number and position.

What happens if the camera is stolen or the power fails?

All images are backed up to the cloud immediately, so if the camera is stolen the existing material is not lost. If the mains power fails, the battery of the solar systems bridges the gap and the LTE modem keeps the camera reachable at all times.
